Last year I submitted an article for the Training & Development magazine published by the Australian Institute of Training and Development called How to Work Out Loud at Your Next Conference.
What is working out loud? Put simply it’s a practice of sharing your reflections, learning in networks. By openly contributing your ideas and your thinking in online networks, you invite others to participate and engage in conversations that inspire new ideas that may otherwise may not have been available to you.
We cannot experience everything; other people’s experience, and hence other people, become the surrogate for knowledge. I store knowledge in my friends” [Karen Stephenson]
The AITD is running feature on Working Out Loud this month and my article was published in February 2016 Vol 43 No 1 edition.
Here is what I wrote.
If you’re interested to learn more about Working Out Loud in conferences, I have created an infographic which you can download from the Free Resources section of this website.
What are you waiting for? Start sharing your reflections of what you’re learning and working on and start a conversation with a stranger about it. See what new ideas you come up with or if you’re challenged with ideas you may have never thought about or even considered.
That’s the beauty of working out loud! You never know what will come of it…
….new concepts?
…new relationship?
…new collaboration?
…new partnership?
…new business idea?
…new invention?
…new product?
…new service?
…new client?
Remember, if you don’t share your ideas, thinking, learning and working – you’ll get NONE OF THE ABOVE!
