I’m so excited to be able to bring to you an idea “Activate My Learning”  that has been mulling in my mind for a while. Many of you know that I like to experiment with all sorts of different learning tools and apps and have a bit of fun in the process.  For the last few years or so, I have been collecting them much like someone collects stamps or coins.  Every Sunday evening, I reserve some time to download an app and have a bit of a play with it.  Some people may think I’m wasting my time however, this experience has amused me because it has enabled me to test out various tools that I apply to not only my work but also to my leisure pursuits (my holiday snaps will never look the same and my smart phone is incredibly slow overloaded with apps but that’s another story).

So I’ve decided to share these with you.  Some are iOS apps, others Android, a smattering of Chrome apps and extensions and some web based.  The more the merrier I say as I’m not loyal to any one “brand”.

Every month, I will email you four tools, tips and apps related or applied to any learning.  That’s one app per week to try out; four per month.  Simple.

Feel free to check out each tool and have a bit of a play with it.  Allocate 5 minutes of your time to each tool and see how you go. I will also provide some ideas for how the tools can be used for learning contexts but really, that’s going to be up to you to figure out.  You may have your own ideas, context and applications for how these tools will work (or not work) for you.

Naturally, you know how much I love to learn (I’m learning Mail Chimp as I’m building this program so this is all learning in action for me as it is for you), so if you want to share any apps you use; or share what you’ve made or learned then use the the hashtag #activatemylearning when sharing socially.

Most of all, remember that these are just tools that can be used to create, curate, promote and share your content and to start conversations.  It doesn’t have to be serious – just do as much or as little as you want and most of all, have fun!
