It’s been quiet at home.
After we put down Pud, I didn’t want to leave the house for over a week. I spent most of my days writing in my journal, cleaning the house and packing away all his things away into the garage.
I also walked a lot at a nearby park.
I cleaned and washed the enclosed outdoor area that he used, rearranged my pot plants and added a bird bath in the garden. He always loved to watch the birds so now with the bath, every afternoon I watch the birds bathe. We have crows, magpies, magpie larks, peace doves, colourful lorikeets and even seen pink galahs flying about.
A few days ago, feeling low about missing Pud, I was at the kitchen table eating breakfast and I looked up to see the moon.
It was huge in the sky and the photo just didn’t do it justice. Within five minutes, the clouds had completely concealed it for the day. Not to be seen again. I thought maybe this was Pud’s doing to make me smile.
