Even though creating videos to share online on YouTube is a bit of a pain, I prefer reading the comments from viewers and fellow readers.
This morning I read one that I loved. As a history buff, this reader brought back to life a part of Melbourne that was long since forgotten: Cheshire’s Bookstore.
What I loved about this response was he brought up the characters and the mood of the time. The long hair, impending call up to the war in Vietnam, differences between Melbourne and Brisbane (still the case today), the flying cables in stores and bringing back to life this old bookstore long gone.
“Killer Kowalski” was also a blast from the past for me. He was a well known wrestler in Melbourne and growing up any big bloke was given this name.
This response triggered my nostalgia for the recent past. The stories of the characters and the times. The parties! Does anyone do parties anymore?
Have a read of this wonderful response below. 👇
