Meet Pud.
He’s our cat and he’s about 10 years old (I don’t know what that is in cat years but I think he’d be middled aged.)
I love him so much. He’s my little buddy who keeps me company and who follows me around. My constant companion.
Unfortunately he’s been sick these last couple of months.
He’s even seen the inside of the Animal Emergency centre as we struggled to find why his health was failing.
Initially it was a urinary system issue so changing his diet and giving him medication helped. It also helped to keep him comfortable as much as possible.
I think he gets stressed when we leave him for too long even though my parents look after him too?
Then in the last couple of weeks he deteriorated again but this time X-rays revealed the problem and after an operation, and more medication, he’s come good again thankfully. He’s lost a bit of weight and looks a bit funny with his shaved paw, neck and backside.
Through all this, I’ve noticed he’s become far more clingy than he used to be. Maybe he realises that we aren’t taking him to the vet to vex him but to help him.
Now he climbs onto our chairs and settles himself comfortably while he snuggles up against our feet and legs. The last few nights, he has also jumped onto our bed and settles between us which never used to happen. Tonight he even sat on my feet while I was eating dinner. It’s as if he needs to have human contact all the time now.
It’s nice to be needed like this and my heart melts when he puts his paw on my hand.
I’m a softie when it comes to Pud.
