2023 was a great year for reading. I read War and Peace as my “Big Book for 2023” and I LOVED IT. I was a bit sad when I finished it because it had been part of my life for a few months.

I discovered Anita Brookner and read six of her novels. I fell into Julian Barnes and also read many international authors. In particular, I loved the Japanese authors.

My YouTube channel Life Lessons from Books grew to about 2800 subscribers, it also became monetised.

I know I’m going to struggle to grow the channel because I refuse to use Social Media to market; Create Shorts or Use AI.

My strategy is to use a more personal approach to build a Community through personal interactions and responses and hopefully, others sharing my channel to their networks because they like it. Not me spruiking or pushing them to subscribe or follow.

My most viewed video was Lessons in Chemistry which is bizarre but I’ll take it.

My aim for 2024 is to read at least 70 books again.
