I haven’t been on an overseas trip since…well 2019, before COVID.

Since that time, the only time I’ve been away from home has been a weekend away in country Victoria in 2022 and an overnight golf trip this year. I’m not saying that for pity, it’s what we have decided to do save money.

It’s either that, or I have to go back to work.

Frankly, I can’t fathom the thought of going back into a corporate environment so for the moment, I will not travel anywhere.

But how lucky are we that we have many online resources so that we can travel virtually?

So I decided to do just that.

If I can’t travel in person (yet), I’m going to PRETEND that I’m travelling across France and then use YouTube videos to learn more about the regions in my *virtual* tour.

Vive l’imagination!

I can stay in the most expensive hotels and I can eat the most expensive foods and drink the best wines the region has to offer.

Why?

Because virtually, money is no object.

So I’m going to go on this virtual tour around France.

In the process, I’m going to enjoy the sights, learn about the regions, the food, and the wine and go on a virtual exploration so when the time comes to go there in person, I’ll be better equipped with knowledge of the area.

(I previously did this virtual tour of the South of France during COVID and shared this virtual tour on Twitter during COVID. Imagine my surprise when I was contacted by the Tourist Ministry of Beaune saying that they wished to see me in person soon. Also a young lady who DMed me who said that she was following my example and doing one for her grandmother and her because they had booked to go on a France trip until….COVID struck. My virtual tour inspired her to create her own in the meantime)….

So what are we waiting for?

Don’t bother packing!

No need to book anything.

No long haul flights or stop overs!

No travel sickness!
