After much hassling the husband to buy some outdoor furniture for our new landscaped garden, we finally went to a nearby showroom to look at what was in stock.
Luckily, we have the same taste in furniture. I despise anything sleek and modern looking, so I wanted either wood or wicker.
It didn’t take long to find something our eyes went to at the same time.
We opted for a lighter ash coloured wicker 5 piece piece with a 2 seater lounge, 2 seats and a low coffee table. I also asked to get an additional smaller round coffee table. All up given they were on sale less than $1000 for the whole lot.
Hopefully it’ll be delivered next week sometime and I can finally sit outside in comfort now that the weather is warming up.
Jokingly I said that hopefully I want our next purchase to be a dishwasher as I’m getting tired washing by hand all the time but one thing at a time as we pay off this purchase. 🤣
Other than that, when we were driving back home, we stopped off at the local small grocery.
While waiting in the car, a young man completely high off his face was trying to get into the car parked next to us. He was completely out of it. His pants down his hips, his underpants showing; talking and yelling to himself and trying to grip the door handle to open with no luck.
While he had his back turned to me, I quietly locked my side passenger door and looked away.
I’ve been noticing more and more people high lately and I don’t want to be the person they yell or hurl abuse to.
So this man managed to get into the car and zonked out in the passenger seat with the car door open.
At least he wasn’t driving…..
(I’m more annoyed than scared of people high on drugs as I’ve had a couple of unforgettable experiences with them. I wonder why they are always without a shirt on and their pants falling down their hips? One even entered our house one day (he had jumped over our back fence) while I was napping and gave me the most startled fright with him looking over down at me). Anyway…..there’s a lot of people with serious problems and I’ve noticed things are worsening…..
Later, back home I put it out of my head and did some baking. I made about 60 of these Greek biscuits topped them with sesame seeds. I’ll give them away to my family and friends and hopefully they’ll enjoy them with a cup of coffee or tea.
Other than that, we did a big cleanup of our front and back garden as next week, a small film crew is coming to take some footage of it and interview us for a testimonial for the landscaping company.
Next week is going to be a relatively clear week for me.
I’ve decided not to play golf opting for just going to the range to practice instead. I’ve got to also film an interview of one of the long term golf members as the Heritage Committee (I’m part of it), is capturing the oral histories of the club.
Other than that, I’ll put my thinking hat on and make a decision whether I’ll register for the Australian Writer’s Course Creative Storytelling or not. It’s $450 which is the reason I’m procrastinating. Should I spend that money towards the dishwasher or the writing course?
I guess I can continue washing dishes by hand. 🤣
