Once I started playing golf, I came to realise that I was a bit of an anomaly.
I’m right handed with everything I do except playing bat and club sports. I also noticed this when I was rifle shooting years ago as well as using a microscope in my University years. However back then, it didn’t register as I was simply using the eye I was most comfortable to focus on objects.
Now as I play golf, I use left handed clubs as these are far easier for me to use. Right handed clubs feel awkward for me.
This morning I was watching a golf tutoring video on YouTube that talked about eye dominance and how to factor that into your swing as well as your putts.
Naturally I had to figure out what eye was my most dominant. I used the above video to do the few tests to check it out. I assumed it was my right but it turned out wrong! It was my left most certainly!
Now I don’t really know what it means but I’d hope to fix all my constant hooks (balls that go to the right for left handed golfers). All this topsy turvy things in golf is messing with my head. Everything is opposite to what you expect. Throw in being left handed, then it’s a complete mess. 🤣
