This is the song we studied in French class so now I can’t get it out of my head….
Puis, I started to think if I did a search en francais about songs that have been created by AI, je l’ai trouvé ça. (Heureusement, il n’y a pas de chansons de Gainsbourg. Phew)..
I’m mixing up my languages which gives you an indication of what’s in my head.
However, it blows my mind that I can now search Google and YouTube in a different language that opens up a whole new world and new perspectives for me. It’s interesting to listen to videos about technology and see what (and how) the French are talking about it. (It’s really no different to us anyway – except that I’m LEARNING the language as opposed to using AI to learn it. I’m doing it “old school”) 🤣
I’m so glad I have put French into my life. It’s enriched it so much.
Someone asked me if I’ll create a virtual friend/bot who I could practice talking with.
Short answer? Nope.
I can easily find many humans through apps like HelloTalk, ITalki and many others. There’s no reason for me to resort to chat bots…
Besides, the whole point of learning a language is to experience a new culture and language. I’ve made a couple of new friends who help me with French and I look forward to one day soon, meeting them in person in-country. That whole shared experience of learning something together – and sharing conversations about our shared lives, work and family – is missing with AI.
Why would I prefer to have a conversation with a Siri-like entity rather than someone who lives in a vineyard in France?! Get my drift?!
