Today at the U3A someone asked me if I was an artist and I thanked them for thinking that I was. I loved the idea that someone else thought I was even though I’m not.
It’s the highest compliment. I was chuffed! Little did they know that I used to be in the corporate world. In fact, I keep what I used to do very quiet. I don’t talk about my previous corporate/business with anyone because I don’t find it important anymore. It’s my “old life” and not worth talking about frankly. Besides, my chats nowadays with people are mainly about festivals, music, movies, art, books, coffee and golf. Way more interesting. The more time passes from my last day of work six months ago, the more I realise I never want to go back to the corporate or business world. I’d rather just define myself as “retired” now.
Onto more interesting things.
Last night I finished crocheting this top (design by Yolanda from Tejer Es Des Guapas YouTube channel. I changed some aspects of the design and overall even though I’m not happy with the yarn, I like the overall look. Next time, I’ll knit the same design but with 8 ply yarn rather than super chunky acrylic. I use acrylic yarns only for experimenting and this is what this was.
Here’s the tutorial I followed. It’s all in Spanish so I just watch what she does and follow along.
