So far I’m halfway through Volume 1, Part 2 153 pages in, taking my time to get to know all the characters and wondering why all the men want to be heroes in battle like Napoleon.

Tonight, as one of the characters (Andrei) réalises in the heart of battle that war isn’t what it’s cracked up to be, I turn my attention to YouTube and wonder if there’s a series on there that I could watch.

Sure enough, there is. In Russian too. Even better.

This will be my weekend viewing (Part 1 and Part 2 only for now as I want to read the book first then watch the series).
