I don’t do new year resolutions.
No, I plan them in my head – and then promptly forget them for the rest of the year.
However there’s nothing like a fresh new year to start planning what you’d like the year ahead to be about.
A new year is a new start. A line in the sand to begin afresh or anew.
For me, there’s only two things I’d like to focus on this year.
While 2022 was a year of turbulence and change as circumstances forced me to introspect and alter for a course I hadn’t planned at least for another five years, this year, I’d like to settle into transformation.
I’d like to focus on My Health & My Friendships.
2022 was a year where I was looking backwards trying to make sense of my professional situation and what happened there.
2023 will be a year where I look forward and set the groundwork for my future life. A life thar is yet unplanned or undecided but I know I’ll need to be healthier, fitter and more resilient mentally. I’ll need a good strong network of local friends and friendships that will support me and my interests from now on.
So I’ll see how I go.
My plan is to commence the CSIRO Total Well Being Diet and hopefully lose some kilos and follow that program to the letter. 🤞
After losing a bit of weight, I’d like to get back into the 5km runs and do Park Runs for my Saturday morning fun runs.
Golf is also going to feature heavily in 2023 as this will be both my sport and social outlet.
Other than enrolling into Intermediate French and Ukulele classes (for music interests) these will be the new focuses for me. I’ll challenge myself to improve my knitting and crochet skills as well.
Let’s see how it all goes.
Here’s a great post on different ways to say Happy New Year.

Wishing you all a happy healthy and wonderful new year.
[…] recently wrote about my minor plans for 2023. Overall though, I have a sneaking suspicion that I’m unlikely to return to work (as I knew it) […]
