This morning I started the deep house cleaning again. I dusted, vacuumed, mopped everything in sight and did three loads of washing. I was on a roll!
However our first order of the day was covid testing. Andrew was sick today with fever and aches and pains and I had hoped it wasn’t covid. So far we have been lucky not to have caught it and made a mental note to go get my 5th booster which I’m now due.
While he sat on his chair reading and napping today, I buzzed around him like a mad woman possessed. The cat looked on bemused.

After cleaning which took me about four hours, I started with cooking. Andrew loves jelly so I made some his favourite green jelly which I’ll top with some whipped cream for him (probably a bad idea when he’s sick but anyway). I made koftas for dinner and then a broad bean stew with lots of greens from my parents garden.

Topped it off by making granola and some chocolate muffins too – in between paying the bills and sorting out the workers for our back yard landscaping.
Believe it or not, it was a productive day and a mindful one. I actually enjoyed everything I did today as I had my total focus on it. Now I’m looking forward to a lovely dinner, I may treat myself to a glass of red wine and some crochet.
