I’ve had carpel tunnel in my right forearm which I believe is due to using the mouse and tapping away on my mobile phone.
Or it could be because I grip my golf clubs a little too tightly or alternatively it could be because of the over zealous crochet which twists the right hand 🤔
Regardless I’ve been doing more reading than crafting in recent times to ease my forearm. However for the last week, with stretches and taking curcumin, the pain has eased enough for me to pick up up my crochet hook and get back into it.
I started this project ages ago so it’s taking longer than usual. However this weekend, I vowed that I needed to get as much done of my half completed projects because I don’t like accruing them as it impedes me starting new ones.
This project is an evening top that has a bit of sparkle in it. I could even wear it with a white shirt underneath it. I have to be careful how much crochet I wear because you can come across looking as a frumpy grandmother. However, any time I do wear my creations, I get stopped by someone asking me where I bought my top. It’s always nice to say “I made it”. Also other women almost always start a conversation about it. The ones who are crafters themselves can even tell the brand of yarn that you’re wearing. It’s like a secret community where you eye off what everyone else is wearing, whose designs they’re knitting and what yarn they’re using.
Anyway, just like great books that you can’t wait to pick up and read everyday because they suck you straight in, there are great projects that you want to always do. Unfortunately I have three projects on the go and I thought they’d entice me more than they have. I vowed that I would at least spend some time on each of them this weekend and I’m making steady progress.
It helped that I watched a couple of series that helped me along this weekend.
I watched this mesmerising tv series called Marriage with Sean Bean. It’s about a couple whose been married for 27 years but watching their life is excruciating. I started to think, “g&?! Is that our life there on the screen?” Luckily no. The couple onscreen hardly talked to each other and quibble over things like jacket potatoes.
Meanwhile Andrew and I can’t stop talking. Well, at various times. Usually my favourite time to talk to him is when he’s focussing on the soccer, footy, golf or the news. 🤣
Then I watched this Australian series called Summer Love about different relationships of people who rent out an AirBnB home on the coast near the 12 Apostles.
Finally thanks also to Dexter New Blood Season, I was lucky to continue with my crafting projects to a point that I’ve nearly finished them.
So all up a good weekend of tv watching and a good deal of knitting and crochet to make good progress into my projects.
