Old Fashioned Letters

Imagine my surprise when I received a hand written letter in the mail a couple of days ago. Such a wonderful surprise that delighted me. It was from my girlfriend who has lived interstate for many years and whom we met many years ago when I was in the Navy and she, Army.

Receiving a letter or card like this is now something that reminds us of another time. What I like about it is that it shows us that the other person took some time in the day to sit down and write to US. Somehow penning pen to paper is a little bit more thoughtful or provides us with a deeper connection with the person who wrote it.

After all, they took time to write it, choose the paper, buy stamps and take the time to send it. I’ve got a few friends who send me postcards, letters and beautiful hand made cards like this and i love them. Each one is special and followed up with a message or a phone call.

It makes me realise that I don’t have anyone’s physical addresses anymore! Maybe I need to do something about that!
