Recently when I was at the supermarket doing the shopping with my husband (a rare occurrence as I hate supermarkets and it’s the only time we get angry with each other because he’s anal about how food is stacked correctly in the trolley), I decided to buy a new puzzle book.
Now we have heaps of these lying around at home. Relics of the pre-iPhone era that I’ve never ditched but I liked the glossy feel of this one that I decided to whack that into the trolley too and disrupt his stacks.
Over the last week I’ve been doing these in the evening to submit for the competitions to win all sorts of things, cash prizes, cars, cookers, perfume, you name it.
Now that I’m not spending so much time on social media, it feels like I have so many hours in the day to kill. Truth be told, I was a bit bored today and asked my husband to feign sickness so we could do a Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and enjoy the new hire car he was given for the day from the car repair place.
Unfortunately he’s way too sensible for frivolous things like my insane ideas so I had to amuse myself the entire day. I killed three hours doing puzzles and watching a movie (Coco Chanel with Audrey Tauto if you must ask).
Doing the puzzles have been gratifying for me this week. It’s been nice to work on them together or send SMS text messages seeking crossword assistance from my friends who get clues at all hours of the day or night to answer for me. 🤣
(Oh by the way, I prefer my puzzles using paper and pencil. Not online).
