Sitting here at 0615 on a Friday morning. Ahead of me a 2 hour drive to Bendigo to attend the National Wool and Sheep Show, the biggest in Australia. It’s a chance of anyone who is a lover of sheep and wool to come along and see the different industries.
My favourite?
- The yarn stalls
- The sheep dog trials
- The sheep shearing
- The sheep competition
- The gathering of women before the event starts – at the Bendigo Wool Mills which stay open over that weekend as bus loads of women descend to buy tonnes of yarn for their knitting and crochet projects.
Back in 2017 I created an entire video about this great annual event. I even interviewed someone to explain how they grade the wool on the sheeps back.
Righto. Time to head off.
