Fitness for me is never consistent. I’ve never been someone who sticks to one thing and does it well. I like to swap and change depending on the moods and the seasons.
The good thing is that I’ve been exposed to many and varied sports and interests. The bad thing is that I could never reach a level of mastery and depth. I admire those who do because it means they devote their entire life to this practice.
As such during my walk this morning, I was thinking why I wasn’t enjoying it so much anymore. The walks have reduced to about two or three times a week but this may be because it’s dark outside and it’s freezing cold and wet. My running has all but stopped.
In its place, every night in front of the telly, I do different stretches and exercises although they’re really half hearted attempts. Squats, lunges, sit-ups, push-ups, over time I have been able to increase more repetitions but it doesn’t help having your husband do fart noises while I’m focusing on my exercise. ? Always the joker.
Nevertheless, Caroline Girvan’s new video series is up. I’ve been following her channel ever since she started on YouTube and she built her followers (1.72 Million) very quickly. She pumps out videos on a consistent basis and everyone seems to love them.
I decided to give her new series a go. There’ll be 5 workouts every week. By the time they go online, it’s the time I finish work so the perfect opportunity to get some exercise in. I’ve bought some weights and set aside one part of our sunroom to be my exercise area.
I just finished her first workout and it just about killed me. It had me sweating and panting and no doubt will feel it tomorrow.
