This was doing my head in.
This, this whole situation about the floods, nuclear war, Ukraine, our prime minister poking the bear with China, prodding, egging on, big noting himself now as the only man to stand before China before an upcoming election to make people scared so he’s re-elected.
This, from the same man who proclaimed on public television he believes in Armageddon (he’s a member of Hillsong and close friend to the ultra rich guy who started the church and whose father is a pedophile).
If there was such a thing as the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, Scott Morrison would be Tonto, on his mule directly behind them trying to keep up, stopping only for photo-ops.
Argh. How have we come to this point in the world with morally corrupt leaders?
Well anyway, I could go around in circles trying to make sense of it but let’s be fair, I can’t. Now, I even question the concept of democracy which we are so far removed.
Yesterday, I felt I had to do something. Focus my nervous agitation on doing something else.
I’ve been reading the Kyiv Independent, for my news out of Ukraine so I decided to donate to them so they can continue to get news out to the world.
I then donated to the Red Cross for the Ukraine crisis. I thought of going directly to the Ukrainian site and spent a good deal of time on there (translating Ukrainian to English of course) to see what things they needed and are doing. I donated afterwards through to the Australian site. It looks like they need more cash than anything else.
I also donated another sum to the NSW flood victims through Red Cross. Of course I did NOT donate to the government’s Go Fund Me site.
Our government ACTUALLY created a donation site on Go Fund Me because they failed to put through funding towards flood relief. That’s how useless they are. Anyway, that’ll be today’s news because it came out late last night of this gross error of judgement. (If this government gets re-elected, I can safely say that the Australian people are uneducated and utterly stupid and deserve what they get).
I’m not mincing words, I’m angry right!
Today ill be donating to a couple more charities – one will be towards helping out the animals who were injured in the floods. Also ill explore if there are some indigenous communities in that area who need more help.
I spent a good deal of time on Red Cross. I’m thinking of becoming a member and doing my bit. Next week, ill go to my local volunteer resource centre and put my name down to be a little bit more active in my community. I also wrote to my local government library contact to see how I can get a part time job or volunteer in libraries.
Libraries are safe spaces in our community where everyone gathers and they provide that “third space” (other than cafes and restaurants which many can’t afford anyway). I feel as if I can offer so much more there to the community than what I usually feel in my normal day job anymore at times.
I’d like to show more compassion, kindness and support in my community even though our powers that lead us are morally and ethically corrupt.
