Building your online networks of people you can learn from can happen online and they can happen in real life – in fact, the medium is not really important – it’s what comes out of that network, connection or relationship that has far more value.
Today I talk about meeting the people we have learned from face to face.
Too often, people have mistakenly thought that just because I espouse social, that it means I’m just for technology or online solutions.
That’s so far from the truth. In actual fact, we are all social beings so for me it’s important for me to take time to meet people in person in my own town or when I’m travelling interstate or internationally.
Today I met up with Athanasia Price who was in my Twitter and Yammer network for the last seven years and who I’m now working with at Adopt & Embrace.
Who would have thought that it took this long to meet – and we’re fellow colleagues now?
