I’m excited!

In just four weeks I jump on a plane and head off to warmer climes of the Gold Coast to attend this massive Bloggers Convention.  I’ve been an avid reader of Darren Rowse’s Problogger website for a couple of years now and when I heard a podcast about the first national bloggers convention he held last year, I made a mental note that I wasn’t going to miss it this time around!

So what is this event about?

Apart from me catching up with my girlfriends on the Gold Coast (as well as making new friends), the event is Australia’s biggest training event around blogging.  It’s aim is to help bloggers to get the most out of their writing as well as content marketing.   The schedule is packed with various masterclasses, workshops, presentations as well as networking events that get us connecting and learning from and with each other.  Some of the keynote presenters include Darren himself, Social Media Marketing Technologist Brian Fanzo and entrepreneur Dan Norris.

What I’m looking forward to is that it’s a great opportunity to go outside my usual field of learning and development. Bloggers come in all shapes and sizes, all industries, professions and methinks we’re going to have a few Instagrammers and YouTubers this year.  All up there will be 6 key notes, 24 breakout sessions, 20 workshops and 7 masterclasses.  I think my brain will explode however, not to worry, there’s a pool, there’s food, there’s cocktails….so what if it does?
