My Dostoyevsky Collection

September 2023

Im quite proud of this collection but I’m struggling to find more classics and literature books second hand to add to this stack. Either people are holding onto them OR people don’t read them anymore.

Of course, I can get these on Kindle or Project Gutenberg too but I don’t like reading such books on a screen. I like to have a book come with me, use post it notes, scribble in it, have it on hand.

I want to feel it as much as experience the story.

I carry a book with me everywhere I go and it’s a conversation starter when people in cafes watch me read and scribble notes or add markers to my books.

I’ve overheard people say, “now THAT’S reading!” and “Look at what she’s doing!” and “that’s a book I’d like to read” and “she’s reviewing that book”.

I think it’s nice to stand out from the crowd.

When everyone is on their phone scrolling through endless Instagram feeds, I’m pondering over what I’m reading. It would be nice to have people to talk to about these books though.

Not many people I know have read them or are interested in reading due to lack of time. It’s a pity because I’d think many people would be relatively surprised at how easy these are to read.
