Modern Crochet

October 2022

Today I went to the library and borrowed this book.
I’ve got a lot of stash yarn from different projects and I hate throwing it out so I usually knit up blankets from all the left over yarn. However sometimes you just need a quick project that uses up the yarn quickly. Crochet is the perfect craft for this.
I’m relatively new to crochet being self taught (thanks YouTube!). However it’s a craft that has been giving me feel good vibes. It’s a lot easier than knitting too and it just has so many possibilities.
Wherever I happen to sit, Pud likes to sit next to me. This afternoon he sat beside me like this just watching me, my hand and the yarn. He doesn’t chase the yarn, he just watches. I wonder what he’s thinking?
This is one of the samples I used with Zpaghetti yarn (heavy tee-shirt like cotton). I haven’t used this material in over 10 years. In one afternoon, I used it all up.

So I’ve made these baskets to store bits and pieces. Recently I cleared out all my drawers and reused cartons and boxes from deliveries as separators. I like to reuse or recycle as much as possible so these yarn baskets will now be where I can place trinkets and stuff. I’m really happy with the result. I’ve not needed to throw out any yarn! Win!

This one was crocheted in 90 minutes while watching a House of Dragons episode. That’s it, all my stash yarn has now been used up.
