March 2024
It took some years but I finally caught it. I was holding onto the hope of never getting it but unfortunately, it happened.
I’ve had all my boosters, I tried to keep as safe as possible but now, it’s everywhere. It didn’t help being in an overcrowded classroom last week when there were a couple of people sneezing. I think I caught it there. The symptoms didn’t show up until Monday.
I felt terrible. Sore throat, body aches and pains. Initially I thought I had caught a chill because I had a fan on me through the night through a heatwave on the weekend but it wasn’t that. The RAT revealed what I didn’t want to see.
Immediately I called my husband who came home. He has to isolate too for five days being a primary contact. He’s not allowed to go into the office. It also means he’s not going to see Machine Head in concert which he was looking forward to.
I had all these things planned. A tour and lunch at a winery, helping out at a Golf Day being the “official photographer and videographer”, and attending Ladies Night at the French Film Festival. Thankfully I got refunds to these but I’m peeved with having to not go to the Charity Golf Day. I feel like an inconvenience to those who now have more work to do. Argh. 😡
Ive been in bed the last couple of days feeling lethargic. It hurts to blink. Luckily though, it’s not as bad as what I thought. I’m so sleepy.
Oh well. It is what it is. I told Andrew he can “just go to the concert if he tests negative. No one is following any rules around Covid anyway!”
His response?
“I’m not anyone”.
