Book Review & Life Lessons from Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte

June 2023

How have I NOT ever read this brilliant book before?!

Jane Eyre fast became one of the BEST books I have ever read in my life.

There’s a handful of books that I LOVE and adore and have somehow made an impact on my life. The first 10 are the ones I would throw into a suitcase and take with me if I had to leave in a great hurry. They are:

  1. The Catcher in the Rye – JD Salinger
  2. Invisible Cities – Italo Calvino
  3. A Fortunate Life – A. B. Facey
  4. A Moveable Feast – Ernest Hemingway
  5. Jane Eyre – Charlotte Bronte
  6. War and Peace – Leo Tolstoy
  7. The Old Man and the Sea – Ernest Hemingway
  8. The Mutiny on HMS Bounty – William Bligh
  9. Metroland – Julian Barnes
  10. Norwegian Wood – Haruki Murakami

Honourable Mentions:

  1. Perfume – Patrick Susskind
  2. The Alchemist – Paulo Coehlo
  3. The Bed of Procrustes – Nicholas Nassim Taleb
  4. Address Unknown – Katherine Kressman Taylor

Anyway, here’s my review of my heroine, Jane Eyre. (I loved this book so much that I bought it as a gift for my young niece. I hope that she draws some lessons from it).
