2022 Goodreads Reading Challenge

December 2022

I have been doing the Goodreads Reading challenge since 2012 and this year, I had set myself the challenge to read 70 books which I achieved. The books I read this year were heavily focussed on authors from other countries (mainly Belgium, France, The Netherlands, Spain, Argentina and Japan) and a spattering of literature.

There is ONE book that is currently not on this list as it will be a longer read. I started reading it on 4 December and can’t see myself finishing it before the end of February and that is, Leo Tolstoy’s War and Peace – which is far becoming one of the best books I have read in all of my life and giving me an appreciation for reading BIG books.

Some Thoughts

  • Most Interesting Page Turner: The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo
  • Most Thought Provoking: Never Let Me Go
  • Most Confronting: How to Be an Anti-Racist
  • Most Nostalgic: The Water Clock
  • Most Lovely Surprise for the Year: The Book Seller’s Tale
  • Best Non-Fiction: Dare to Unlead by Celine Schillinger
  • Most Beautiful & Moving Piece of Literature: To the Light House by Virginia Woolf and The Shephard’s Life

What are your reading challenges for 2023?
